A Trip into Bastian Schweinsteiger's Career

The former German beast who used to play for Bayern Munich and Manchester United Bastian Schweinsteiger has announced his retirement from football at the age of 35.

He paid his tribute to the fans and wrote on social media, “Dear fans, the time has now come, and I will be finishing my active career at the end of this season. I would like to thank both you, my teams FC Bayern, Manchester United, Chicago Fire and the German national team. You made this unbelievable time possible for me".

He also added, “And of course, I would like to thank my wife Ana Ivanovic and my family for their support. Saying goodbye as an active player makes me feel a little nostalgic, but I am also looking forward to the exciting challenges that await me soon. I will remain faithful to football.”

Bastian Schweinsteiger made the announcement during his spell at Chicago Fire. He will be best known for his midfield days at Bayern, for whom he made 376 appearances, scored 47 goals, and won eight Bundesliga titles as well as the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund in 2013.

As we talk about his international career, he 121 appearances and scored 21 goals. This makes him Germany’s fourth-most capped player of all time. His best achievement with the international team is the World Cup with that he won in 2014.

In 2015, Schweinsteiger was bought by Manchester United. He made 18 appearances and scored 1 goal for the Reds. He also became the first-ever German player to play in United's first team.

In March 2017, he left the Premier League to join the MLS side Chicago Fire.
During his debut MLS season, Schweinsteiger assisted Chicago Fire to their first playoff appearance since 2012 and was also named the club’s player of the season in the year 2018. He made a total of 85 appearances and scored 8 goals for the MLS side.
